Tan Lang in the Career Palace

Zi Wei and Tan Lang in the Career Palace: both civil and military work; seeing Huo Xing or Ling Xing, you hold even more real power.

With Zi Wei and Tan Lang in the Career Palace, your path mostly involves dealing with people — sales, public relations, entertainment, food and hospitality all fit — and you're smooth in every direction at work. The Complete Book says "with Zi Wei, civil and military posts, no small power and nobility," meaning both civil and military paths are open and your standing is considerable; in the Mao or You palace, seeing Huo Xing is even better — Volume 1 has "Tan Lang in Mao or You, meeting Huo, becomes a high minister," meaning Tan Lang in Mao or You seeing Huo Xing can rise to high office. Adding Qing Yang, Tuo Luo, or Di Kong and Di Jie, it becomes ordinary.

· Zi Wei is the lord of career — the Complete Book says Zi Wei "transforms into the emperor's seat and is the lord of career," so in the Career Palace it is well placed.

· Career Palace meeting Di Kong and Di Jie — Master Ni says "with Di Jie and Kong, one won't become an official" (Ni Haixia, Heavenly Records episode 27, 19:23).

· Zi Wei in the Career Palace meeting Fu and Bi — the Complete Book says Zi Wei, "if dwelling in the Career, Body or Life, in these three palaces most needs Zuo and You to guard it"; "the joyous meeting of ruler and ministers" refers to Zi Wei guarding the Life Palace together with Zuo Fu and You Bi, not to the Career Palace.

· Complete Book of Zi Wei Dou Shu · Volume 2 · Career: "Zi Wei in Temple/Prosperous meeting Zuo, You, Chang, Qu, Kui and Yue, illustrious, rising to marquis and earl" (★Collation 2026-09-05: the original citation 〔Zi Wei in the Career Palace signifies great wealth and nobility, suited to high positions〕 could not be found after full-text verification against the Wikisource rare edition; replaced with the original text)

· Questions and Answers on the Stars · Zi Wei: "If dwelling in the Career, Body or Life, in these three palaces it most needs Zuo and You to guard it; with Tian Xiang, Lu and Ma galloping together, not falling into emptiness, and further sitting in a place of life, it can be read as noble" (★Collation 2026-06-05: the original "Zi Wei in the Career Palace without malefic clashes will surely be a high official" is not found in the original Marrow Rhapsody and is an extension; corrected per the Zi Wei entry in the rare edition of Complete Book · Questions and Answers on the Stars)

Establish yourself in lively, aesthetic places, rising to prominence where people gather.

With Lian Zhen and Tan Lang in the Career Palace, your career relies on popularity and aesthetics; lively trades like entertainment, fashion, beauty and food and hospitality suit best. The Complete Book has only one line on this combination, "with Tan Lang, power and nobility amid turmoil," meaning you gain influence only where people gather. Lian Zhen and Tan Lang share a palace only in Si and Hai, both Fallen (weak) positions, and the book also reminds you to act properly and keep a sense of measure when holding power.

Zi Wei Dou Shu emphasizes seeing Yin and Yang together; below are neutral reminders based on the features of this chart — knowing what to watch for lets you turn danger into safety.

◆ This palace's main star 【Lian Zhen】 is Fallen and lacks energy; in career and occupation you need to actively invest more effort and cannot rely on instinct alone.
